FOUNDATION Paynesville Area Hospital Foundation originated in December 2001 with an idea of supporting the hospital district by fund raising. The Paynesville Area Hospital Foundation welcomes you to participate in our projects to effectively address health care needs within our health care system that the ordinary budget dollars cannot cover. Outside financial resources are needed in order to ensure that top quality health care services are delivered in our communities today and long into the future. Visionary Mission:The Paynesville Area Hospital Foundation cultivates, invests and dispenses charitable donations, upon approval of its Board of Directors, in order to provide a continuous source of funds that ensure the ongoing advancement and availability of top quality local healthcare in all communities served. Current Projects: Meditation Garden: We have designated space outside the new Meditation Room to create a special Meditation Garden. This project will focus on providing a tranquil place for healing and peaceful retreats. The Meditation Garden will be accessible from our hospital, Koronis Manor, and 700 Stearns Place. A new wrought iron gazebo currently adds a sampling of the forthcoming beauty and tranquil environment that can be achieved by fully transforming this outdoor space. Meditation Room: Philanthropy has provided . . . the Meditation Room! Thanks to all the generous contributions and the commitment from the Foundation Board. This unique space is now open for residents, patients, and employees of PAHCS. Dr. Dale Louis has created a stained glass wall hanging that is a beautiful landscape of a country hillside. Dr. Louis and his wife, Mary Ann, drove this precious gift from their home in Colorado to Paynesville especially for the Meditation Room! A fountain is being designed by Pat Waddick, the Meditation Room's architect. Mr. Waddick will be donating his design - many thanks! The remaining fountain project will need funding as a project estimate will be forthcoming. Hilltop Care Center Resident Van: Our goal is to raise $55,000 for a new resident van for the Hilltop Care Center. The van will be used to transport residents to community events and appointments. We currently have $17,000 raised for the van project. Events: SAVE THE DATE: May 13, 2008 Fourth Annual Foundation Golf Tournament will be Tuesday, May 13, 2007, at noon. If you would like to help support this event, please contact Jennifer Shinn at 320-243-7938 or e-mail [email protected] The Third Annual Foundation Golf Tournament was held on Tuesday, May 15, 2007, at noon; we raised over $18,000 for the foundation which which went towards funding a new resident van for the Hilltop Care Center. This is the first year that we hosted over 100 golfers. Thank you to all who helped make this event a great success! Sponsorships:    Gold - $1000 contribution; includes four golf tickets;    Silver - $500 contribution; includes two golf tickets;    Bronze - $300 contribution; all donation. Tickets: $75 per person, includes 18-holes of golf at Koronis Hills Golf Club & cart rental; fantastic steak dinner right off the grill immediately following golf. How can I contribute? Gifts can be given with a designation to a specific project or placed in the area of greatest need which will assist to complete the most urgent projects. Our volunteers give so much to help out others and deliver special kindness. If you know of anyone that you think would make a great volunteer, let him or her know! Encourage those you know to be active in their community by joining our volunteer program. Have you volunteered lately? At our health care facilities we depend on the volunteers to assist in providing needed services like socialization: interacting with community members. The kindness and warmth that a volunteer brings into our facilities is comforting and uplifting. Through volunteering new friendships develop and life becomes more meaningful; more satisfying.
