The Paynesville Area Hospital District Board of Directors took the following actions at their meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 28.
The board unanimously approved hiring Steven Moburg as the next CEO, replacing Willie LaCroix, who intends to retire. The board also authorized its CEO Search Committee to negotiate a contract with Moburg, who was selected out of a field of almost 200 candidates. Moburg is expected to start either in mid-September or by early October.
The board also unanimously approved a consulting and separation agreement with LaCroix, who will be available for direct consultation for the new CEO and the board for 60 days once the new CEO arrives. After that, LaCroix agreed to provide 12 months of consulting, as needed, for the new CEO and board, either by telephone, fax, or in person. PAHCS will pay LaCroix $25,000 for the year of consulting as well as provide him with health insurance for the next three years.
The board noted that filings for the upcoming hospital district elections are open until Tuesday, Sept. 10. Representatives for the city of Lake Henry, the city of Richmond, Paynesville Township, Roseville Township, Union Grove Township, and Zion Township will be elected. Interested candidates should contact their city or township clerk.
The board approved adding Daniel Tiede, M.D. (cardiologist), and Jerome Keating, M.D. (urologist), to the consulting staff; Sherree Engan, C.R.N.A. (anesthetist), Jennifer Lund, Pharm.D., and Jana Strand, Pharm.D., to the ancillary staff.
The board discussed PAHCS's marketing expenditures, noting that they were overbudget. A marketing committee is working on a marketing plan for PAHCS.
The board was informed that PAHCS has offered a lease of the Integrated Health Clinic to Dr. Tom Sult, who has resigned after being voted out of the medical group. PAHCS has not heard from Sult as to whether he will lease the facility.
