The Paynesville Area Hospital District Board of Directors took the following actions at their meeting on Wednesday, July 25.
The board was updated on its building project, which is back on schedule. Asbestos abatement is nearly finished, and the project is moving to do some remodeling inside the existing building. The board was updated on administrator Willie LaCroix's effort to help the system's surgical contractor recruit a surgeon. A resident in his final year is scheduled to visit Paynesville in August.
The board approved an employee loan request of $6,500 to Kristy Noonan, who intends to study nursing.
The board acknowledged a $500 donation to the hospital auxiliary's chapel project from the Paynesville Lutheran Endowment Fund.
The board approved appointing Dr. Jerome Keating (urology) to the consulting staff and approved Dr. John Eelkema (radiology) and Dr. Charles Leusner (radiology) for having completed their provisional period.
