Mabel was born in Manannah, Minn, in 1906. She was blessed with seven brothers and sisters, who all had a knack of being creative. She and her sisters enjoyed decorating and wallpapering.
In August of 1924, Mabel married Glen Hoskins. They had one son, Richard. The Hoskins' first house was a farm about two and one-half miles northwest of Eden Valley, where they lived until they moved to Paynesville in 1970.
Mabel was a cook at the Chalet Cafe in Eden Valley and Hill Top Restaurant in Paynesville. She enjoyed traveling, visiting, and entertaining. Mabel is the proud grandmother of three, great-grandmother of seven, and great-great-grandmother of three.
